Printing FAQs
Your Questions, Answered.
Got questions (about printing)? We’ve got answers! We want to make your printing experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here are some of the most common questions we get, but don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s something we missed!
File Preparation & Submission
PDF (Portable Document Format) is the gold standard! It ensures your document looks the same on our end as it does on yours. Most programs can generate a PDF, and it's the most reliable format for consistent results.
To ensure your files are print-ready, please:
- Embed all images.
- Convert text/copy to paths or outlines.
- Export as a PDF file.
Aim for 300 dpi (dots per inch). Images pulled from the internet are often low-resolution (72 or 96 dpi) and will look blurry or pixelated when printed.
Color & Quality
Monitors use RGB (red, green, blue) to display colors, while printers use CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). These color models have different ranges, and some colors may shift slightly during the conversion. We can provide a color proof for critical color matching.
Typically, no. White is usually the absence of ink, letting the paper show through. However, if you're printing on colored paper or apparel, we'll need to use white ink or toner.
PMS is a standardized color system where each color has a unique number. This allows us to precisely match colors and maintain consistency across your printed materials.
